Our Curriculum and Values

SUMMER TIMETABLE

OUR FOREST SCHOOL WORK

Forest School learning takes place throughout the week during afternoon sessions. We have a timetable to allow all children in the school the opportunity to take risks, achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a local woodland or natural environment with trees.  We use the woods behind Wensleydale Road.

Over the year our children have been involved in seasonal activities using leaves and sticks.  The children have started to develop an understanding of the changing seasons.  They have made leaf crowns, firework pictures, leaf faces, muddy expressions, magic wands with sticks, twig skeletons and twig towers as well as picture frames. They have worked cooperatively to make a raft and float it down the beck.

We have pretended to be moles and snakes. We have spent time looking at the beauty of the outdoors and enjoying watching birds and falling leaves.

Forest School work promotes the school's values.
