Annual Cycle Day Friday 4th May

Friday 4th May sees our Annual Cycle Day. There will be lots of activities for the children to participate in. We hope that as many children as possible will bring their bikes (or scooters) to school. The day will start with the traditional bacon or sausage sandwich, available from 8.15am until 8.55am, which is also available to parents/carers. The sandwiches will be available in the staff car park at the front of the building this year so please make your way around there. We will be charging £1.00 for a bacon or sausage sandwich, a fruit juice and a raffle ticket. The raffle tickets will be entered in to a prize draw to be made at the end of the day.
Last year over 320 children and adults arrived at school on a bike.
The day will include a variety of activities.
In order for the children to fully access the day, they will require the appropriate equipment. It is essential that they have bicycles that are in good working order. The children will also need appropriate clothing for being out and about. There is no need to wear school uniform but they may wish to wear some sporting/casual clothing. Sensible footwear, tracksuit and a lightweight waterproof top would be advisable and not jeans or fashion tops. Also, please apply long lasting sun cream as the children will be outside most of the day. It is essential that if your child has a helmet, it should be worn on the day (note: some activities require a helmet to be worn. If a helmet is not available, then they may miss out on an activity).
We also have the Extreme Bike Show returning for another fantastic display.  This will take place throughout the day and all pupils will get to see the performances.

NB. If the weather is wet, please include a change of clothes, including socks and shoes.
