There’s no easy way around it. No matter how talented you are, your talent is going to fail you if you’re not skilled, if you don’t study, work really hard and dedicate yourself to getting better every single day. – Will Smith

A Mind For Success

As a forward thinking school, we always consider new opportunities to help all members of the school community.  A recent project that we have developed is called 'A Mind for Success'. The project focuses on mindsets and includeds encouraging children, staff and parents to promote a 'growth' mindset. The school has developed this following research by Mr Buckle and Mr Mottram into this approach and draws on the work of John Hattie and the research of Carol Dweck.

In order to develop this, we teamed up with Tony Swainston, a local consultant, who specialises in leadership and the principles of mindests.

The project continues to develop with the whole school community becoming involved with a project on metacognition.  This is a collaborative project with 9 other schools serving 'service communities' and is being led by Mrs Campbell.  We continue to develop our work on growth mindsets as we believe that developing growth mindsets improves outcomes for everyone.
